Our 2006 Saanen Dairy
Herd
Bliss, Selena, Thally, Reganna
Saanens
Our Saanen ventures started
in December 1999 when we were given a Saanen doe and her dry yearling daughter,
(still on her mother) by some old church friends. The mother, Christy, decided
that she wanted to be the dominant doe and would not stop fighting with our boss
alpine. Not to mention the fact that the dry yearling was completely wild
and always hiding behind her mother... In order to fix a few problems, we sold
Christy so some friends of ours who also were just getting into goats, which
eliminated the dominance problem and helped to tame the dry yearling all at
once. That dry yearling was GCH The N'Chanted Victoria *M, my first showmanship
doe, and herd favorite. She has been an excellent milker and brood doe and we feel extremely blessed to
have her as a foundation doe!
We have added a lot to our Saanen herd in the last few years, and though most of
the does do not have our herd name on them, we are extremely excited to have them
on our farm, and to be able to incorporate them into my breeding program! There are so many to thank for helping us attain such
a beautiful
herd, but the list would be far too long. So, I think I can just say 'you all
know who you are!' :-) Thank You, and may God bless!
Sincerely,
Alicia Gosnell

8/22/2007: NEW PHOTOS ARE UP! So sorry to all of you for not keeping
the website up to date this summer. We've had a very busy year with many
different things. We attended very few shows but were pleased with how our does
placed at those shows. At the Ohio State Fair Our girls brought home Grand
Champion LaMancha, Grand Champion Saanen, Grand and Reserve Junior Champion
Saanens as well as many other high placings in large classes. We also had our
small milking herd appraised at the end of July. We were very excited with our
average score being a 90 with two first fresheners! We have cut back on our herd
a bit, but we still have a few very beautiful doelings as well as a couple
bucklings For Sale. Please Contact Us if you're
interested! As fall is around the corner we will soon be starting to breed
select does to freshen in the spring. Please inform us of any interest you might
have in kids as some does might not be bred unless a kid is spoken for.
Thanks for visiting our site, and God Bless!
08/14/2006: We recently attended the 2006 National Show in Indianapolis,
Indiana. The small show string of 4 milking does we brought made us proud.
Thally was given top honors as a first freshener, winning 1st place 2 yr. old
with 1st udder! Our 3 yr. olds also placed high, Selena coming
in 5th place, and Bliss in 7th place. Reganna, our yearling
milker also did well at 15th place. The girls sure made us proud and
we're excited to see what next years' Nationals will bring!
